A big hi and hello to all of you out there! Thank you for stopping by Jenny Sun Photography's blog! This is my brand new blog space! So please make yourself at home, and have a good browse around. There is plenty more to come so check back often :) Just in case any of you are wondering who on earth I am, my name is Jenny Sun. I own a photography company that spans across Australia and Malaysia, particularly in the Sydney and Kuala Lumpur regions respectively. Though I'm not restricted to those areas! :) I love photographing just about anything under the sun, but my particular passion is for weddings and portraits - I seriously LOVE people, their stories, the beautiful relationships formed, and the tales that are told when that shutter goes off!

This blog is my personal and visual journey along this path of photography. Please hop on board the ride, comment along the way (I shamelessly love comments!), and lets see where the wind takes us :)

100,000

I'm writing this post, as I sniffle and cough. It's no fun being sick :(

On the bright side, we recently shot through the 100,000th visitor mark! I was totally not expecting to have such an influx of visitors since I made the announcement over the weekend (I actually thought we werent going to get to 100,000 til sometime this week), but looks like alot of you pay attention to my facebook updates! :D

Anyhow, to celebrate and because I think happiness is better shared, I wanted to give away something fabulous! :) Actually a few things! Here is what is in store to be given away :)

(1) $20 itunes gift card to the 100,000th visitor (yes, I have already saved your IP address!)

(2) For photographers: 1 x TRA set of your choice (not both of them, 1 set, so either TRA1 or TRA2 depending on which one you like). I was going to give away a 1 hour mentoring session with myself, but that sounded SO vain (yuck!), and I'm not that cool anyway which means I KNOW none of you will want that so I'm sticking with the TRA prize haha :). If you are wondering what is TRA, these are some of the photoshop actions that constitute a large part of how my photos look. See here and here for how I've mixed them into my work!

(3) For brides: 1 x Pin Me Up Couture hairpiece (these are the FABULOUS hairpieces I was raving about in my last post! ). You get to choose between Stelle, or Carleigh :) Brides, alot of you have asked me where you can find beautiful vintage pieces for your hair, well Pin Me Up Couture is the place. And they deliver everywhere, so don't hesitate to order one for your big day :) Pictures below courtesy of Pin Me Up Couture:

(Stelle)

(carleigh)

Well, there's nothing much you can do to win the first prize, unless the winner doesn't claim it, so here's how you can nab the other two prizes! You can only enter for ONE prize so choose which one you want carefully!!

For the TRA set, either drop a comment into the comment box below, or send me an email to info@jennysunphotography.com (with the subject line: 100,000 TRA), telling me why you read our blog, and what about TRA actions that you love! :)

For the Pin Me Up Couture hairpiece, drop a comment into the comment box below or send me an email to info@jennysunphotography.com (with the subject line: 100,000 pinmeup) telling me what you love about the hairpieces :)

To the 100,000th visitor, your IP address is: 122.106.220.158 (so email me a printscreen to VERIFY your IP address and your postal address and once your IP verification check is genuine, I'll send it out to you now! :) ) To check your IP address click HERE.

Contest is open for a week. So get cracking! Note that the more genuine and creative your responses are, the better are your chances! :) And NO, you do NOT need to write an essay to get my attention :) Good luck!

And for those waiting for picture posts, here is a sneak peak to what I'll be posting up next :)

Have a glorious tuesday everyone! I'm back to bed to nurse this cold.

I love how a great picture can really tell a story; a story about the subjects, and the photographer. Perspective is so insightful and so gripping. The TRA sets are so awesome. I have been drooling over them for some time now. I haven't a fav. But I do love Pool Party for just one.
Thanks for sharing your talent!

TRA actions awesome, I still not able to own one for now, but I'm so in love with the TRA2 pool-party action, that change the mood of the photograph. Not much reason, just love the color & mood. :) Chill~

HOLY BATMOBILE! Your blog is awesome! In all honesty, this is the first time I've had the opportunity to visit your blog (I am a recent twitter-er of @gettotallyrad, and stumbled upon it via twitter).

But sweet sassy mollassy I. am. in. love. I have spent the last hour clicking through your blog, and now I probably have carpal tunnel. But it was worth it!

I would L-O, L-O, L-O, L-O-V-E (yes, that was my Ashlee Simpson impersonation!) a set of TRA's. I've always admired them from affar, but never made the leap and actually committed. But seriously, I hope I win.

As for the TRA actions, that I heart...well, I LOVE them all. I really like the Yin/Yang and Big Blue. I like how they take your everyday picture - and give it a whole lotta "boom boom pow." Fo'shizzle.

Congratulations on your 100,000 visitor mark! That itself, is something to be VERY proud of!!!

Just found your blog as well through the TRA Twitter post. Lovely work!

Why do I love TRA? Well, the names of course! Who wouldn't like Milk & Cookies? Or being transported back in time with Grandma's Tap Shoes?

Alas, I've only seen them on their site though, as I don't have them yet - but would love to win them (specifically TRA2 if given a choice).

Why? Because they're just tools, like your camera or lens, but they're tools that can help set yourself apart from the crowd.

And there can never be enough originality, creativity and beauty in the world.

Hope you feel better soon.

Mark

100,000 TRA

I am a new photographer and I found your site through TRA. I cannot stop looking through your gallery and blog postings! You are SOOOO fabulous, and I wish I lived near you so I could take you up on the hour of mentoring :)

I love the site 1) because of the eye candy and 2) because all of your images are so vivid and clear. I love all of that intense color! I would also really like to know where you got your incredibly cute blogger template because I am jealous.

I like the TRA 1) because they have attitude - always a plus in anything that you are looking for and 2) because they make images look great without looking "photoshopped". You just look at them and think "wow" I wish I could do that!

100,000 TRA

Im going to be honest, this is my first time visiting your blog. I found it through TRA on twitter. I've received some of their samples and really like their actions. Ive looked at a few posts on your blog and really do enjoy your work. I believe in the power of emulation. It is how I learned photography. From watching other photographers, listening to any advice they gave and wanting to do as well as they do. Thank you.

I started to read your blog, since i read the artible Signature Photographer in malaysia.
and you are the only one female photographer among the seven.

my first impression to you is, a female carry a tonnes of photography equipment,
shooting, running in the wedding events.

i spent almost 3 days in reading all ur articles.
non of them are missed out.
the photos which are taken by u....i really love it.
the colors are so sharp, and i believe this is not only because of power of L Lens, u are putting in some magic color in ur photo.

does TRA is the magic behind all these photo? i love to have it.

I found you throu TRA as well. I have been recently starting photography on the side in hopes of one day making it my full-time job! *Here's to hoping, right!?* I have enjoyed looking through your work. I try to surround myself with great photographer's work in effort to glean from their experience. Each week I spend several hours googling photographers I've found through TRA, Facebook, etc. The only way to improve is by learning from others, right!? This is also where TRA comes in. A photographer friend of mine recommended them to me and I've been loving it ever since. Although each action is something that anybody with Photoshop can do on their own, TRA has taken so much of the guess work and time out of editing photos. I can get my edited images to my clients so much faster by using TRAs. Each photo is still unique and still creative but in a fraction of the time. That helps build my rapport with my clients-- them knowing that they'll get their images in a reasonable amount of time!
Thanks for all you do, Jenny! Even if I don't win anything, I've found another photographer to "glean" experience from! Thanks!!!

Congrats on 100000 visits. I am here from TRA's Twitter. Have loved looking through some of your fabulous wedding images and will add you to my google reader. I love TRA's actions because when you run them they leave the background image alone and then they put all the little "tweaks" in a folder above the images that is really easy to "tweek" to your liking.

Congrats on your success with your ventures and thanks for doing this giveaway! I downloaded TRA's free actions a bit ago and LOVE using them with my sessions! Again, congrats on everything!

TRA 100,000... The two reasons for reading your blog- first, the images are simply captivating! There is a richness to them- to their colors that allows them to communicate story in a way that I dont see often in photography- and I love it!!!
Also, I love the joy that comes across in the posts! (even today with you being sick there is a sense that life is still good) - which makes it fun to read - its like reading an email from a good friend!

Congras on the 100K post on your blog. I am reader and photographer from hong kong. I am yet to meet you in person but think I will meet you in 2010 WPPI conference if you will be attending. I will be going with the Louis Pang group. I attended Louis' workshop last year and now working in hong kong. I was supposed to be in Julia and Brendan's wedding in Sydney but I got pregnant and my baby Lance was born on 5 May 09. I have added you from facebook and have been following your blog and watching your pics in facebook. I noticed your style the special colour tuning the editing the brightness of the red and the off colour vintage look etc. I love your style and the effects of the actions. I am a big fan of actions and I have been experimenting and having fun. I utilize a lot more the "develop" functions of lightroom after I saw your pictures of Julia. Thanks for the inspirations. I would love to get your special recipe TRA to learn even more. Congras also on winning the WPPI you well deserve it and I love the picture too. So rock on, and hopefully will finally meet you soon in WPPI conference next year.

It was a month after my engagement, and my wife to be was so anxious about who's taking our photos that she was showing me about a million photos from different photographers each day. It reached a point when I started to feel that whoever we eventually settle with, it will end up looking the same.

Till she showed me one particular set.

One collection of shots that evoked a strange emotion from the inside, as if I was the person in the picture and not merely the viewer. I knew there and then, who I want my photographer to be. From that point, me and my wife started to stalk your blog, picturing ourselves in all the pictures posted, counting every second till its our turn. And even when its over, we are still gonna be stalking it just to make sure no one else's pictures are better than ours =P

On TRA, i'm gonna admit this is where I first heard of it, but after checking it out, wow, the " so this is the little secret" feeling immediately came gushing in. Been looking for that extra help and touch to spice up my client's photos, so glad i finally found it. Only regret - it came 2 wedding shoots late.

Jenny, if you've read this far, don't see why I need to wait longer for my prize =P cheers, and thanks for being an inspiration to all.
