So this is not their full set. In fact, these are just the film outtakes I managed to capture during this engagement session which I shot in London.

However, when I got the films back, I couldn't help but share these. Their full (digital) set will be up on the blog at some point, but for now, enjoy this miniature serving of engagement photos from London, courtesy of the wonderful world of film (yay to photos that never need to be edited! :D )

Meet Nadia + Sam :)

Two of the nicest, funniest, and kindest people I've had the pleasure of crossing paths with :) They think they are completely unphotogenic, but I think that is the biggest fattest lie I've ever been told! haha :)

Travel Destination: London, UK [Summer 2010] on FILM

It's been several weeks of solid city and country hopping. At the moment I'm parked here in a cosy cafe that's decked with wooden floorboards, warm smells of bacon and eggs wafting in the air, and fringed with freshly brewed coffee on a slightly chilly morning, at another airport, waiting to depart to the next city on my calendar. I have been awake since about 5 in morning, which has been unusual, given the fact that I do love (with an unhealthy passion) my desire to sleep in. However, I do appreciate the slow start to the day. More often than not, I need to protectively arm my days with double espresso shots in order to power through the frantic manicness that usually colours my schedule. So, it was a welcomed luxury to wake up early with an abundance of hours ahead of me to pack, freshen up, and lull my way to the airport in an untraditionally unhurried fashion.

So I sit here now, with Alicia Keys serenading through my newly purchased noise cancelling earphones, munching faithfully through one of my favourite kind of breakfasts - eggs benedict, drenched in velvety hollandaise sauce, roped with fresh baby spinach leaves, smoked ham, and turkish bread. All trimmed with a punchy cup of espresso. I can never go without my espresso :) I used to be a latte kind of girl, but my coffee palette seems to have gone through puberty or something because I am now craving that naked, full bodied, electric kick that comes from just the beans :) And I couldn't feel more alive in the after moments of letting it glide into my system. On a good day, I can take a double ;)

I don't get moments like this often, so I do treasure them. These quiet moments, that is. So when I was able to do that while in London recently, it was lovely beyond words to my happy heart. Marry that with the fact that the days were incredibly long :) Summer was definitely lilting her way throughout the town, and I completely loved the fact that the sun went down at 930 in the evenings! There were many instances where I was incredibly content to pick up my meal from Mark and Spencer , and casually make my way to a nearby park to just munch, relax, and people watch. Most people who look at me will often raise an eyebrow when I tell them I am just as happy to be on my own, with some solidly fantastic music, good food, inhabiting a corner comfortably in a cafe or a park under the trees while the sun is gently radiating around and the breeze is dancing in an affable and agreeable manner. Anyhow, I think there is a misconception that I am an extrovert, maybe because of the absolutely severe amounts AND lengths that I talk and let my mouth run. However the myers briggs personality test has totally trumped and killed this myth and proven that I am an introvert :P yes, an INTROVERT! Crazy right? ;) Okay, so I am only an introvert by a meagre 2 points (which technically means I can be either an introvert or extrovert), but nevertheless it does mean that I completely love (and need) my ME-time :)

Anyhow, that was a lot of verbal verbosity :P I really just wanted to share some photos I had taken in London while I was there recently. I got the films back, and these are my favourite :) At some point, I will probably share the digital photos I took as well, but we'll leave that for another time :) For now, hope you find some of the ones below ok! Sorry about the weird border around each photo! I have no idea what happened with my script on this new computer :P

These were taken at St James Park. I love how in the summer you can sit on these awesome looking chairs and just sun bake in the middle of the park! :D




Oxford Street. The hub of the shopping in this city. I LOVED it. And it was sales galore!! :D




I think I was obsessed with the parks of London. I have no idea why. I find I pick up a fetish in every city/country I go to. In Europe 2008, it was locks and doors. In USA earlier this year it was letterboxes. In London this time, it was their parks. I visited ALOT of them! :P The above was along the grounds of Chiswick House (pronounced Chis-ick, thanks to my lovely british friends in Perth who generously corrected me when I pronounced it Chis-wick :P )



This shot above, and the couple below are just a few examples of pretty things I saw while walking the streets :)







And I'll end the post with my favourites (above shot and all the ones below), which were taken in Hampstead Heath Park when I took a very long walk through its extensive grounds. The light was incredible that afternoon, and I was very happy to just sit there amongst the golden fields, with all the other summer campers and just watch the world go by :)

Film: Travel Destination - Route 1 and The Big Sur, USA

These photos are highly overdue :P For those that have been following my blog, you'll know that I made the long trek to the USA a couple of months back :) As expected, I took a million and one photos, and as expected when I came back home life got in the way and all those photos got left sitting inside a dusty hard drive :P

Anyhow, one thing you may not know about me, is that I edit or look at my travel photos as a way to destress, and it is very theraputic for myself personally :) So you will know if travel photos go up on the blog, it means things are EXTREMELY crazy on my end, and this is my way of coping :P That, and eating Haagen Dazs ice cream! :D

As part of my tour around the states, I visited and road tripped along this AWESOME stretch of coastal land called "Route 1 and The Big Sur" - it is basically hundreds and hundreds of KM of cliff, ocean, and beach towns. Sadly, because it is along the coast, it means the area is frequented by alot of fog and rain (which I saw alot of - boo!), but the awesome thing about this place is that there are many beautiful little towns that are situated right by the beach/coast and it is phenomenally beautiful to witness and be part of on a sunny day :) Towns such as Monterey, Carmel (this was probably the prettiest! :D ), Santa Cruz, Morro Bay, and Santa Barbara were pit stops along the way along the 4 day trip.... and all were really gorgeous in their own right :)

I took alot of digital photos (which I may put up later :P ), but for now, here are some of the film photos that came back from that experience :) I wish there was more sun on the trip, but hey, you take what you can get when you are travelling ;)

As always, all film photos are unedited, hence the softer more pastel-like colours, and that pretty grain!! :D

Spanish Missions are very common along the California area. I loved the architecture, colours and rustic feel of the place! :D

Carmel Town :) I can't believe people are lucky enough to live with a view like this! :D

These were taken in Napa Valley when it was POURING RAINING! You should know by know I have a soft spot for yellow fields of flowers :P

Beaches like below were normal sights along the Route 1 coastal drive. And it was amazing! :D

I was OBSESSED with American letterboxes throughout my entire trip! I think I shot every single one I could find! :P I just love how cute they are!

As there were alot of coastal towns, fisherman piers and clam chowder (which I learnt I didn't like!) were of the norm! :D

This made me sad :(

Stumbled upon this place on our way to find a particular beach. LOVED how ethereal and enchanting it looks! :D

And not forgetting the massive number of seals basking along the coast as well! :D
