A big hi and hello to all of you out there! Thank you for stopping by Jenny Sun Photography's blog! This is my brand new blog space! So please make yourself at home, and have a good browse around. There is plenty more to come so check back often :) Just in case any of you are wondering who on earth I am, my name is Jenny Sun. I own a photography company that spans across Australia and Malaysia, particularly in the Sydney and Kuala Lumpur regions respectively. Though I'm not restricted to those areas! :) I love photographing just about anything under the sun, but my particular passion is for weddings and portraits - I seriously LOVE people, their stories, the beautiful relationships formed, and the tales that are told when that shutter goes off!

This blog is my personal and visual journey along this path of photography. Please hop on board the ride, comment along the way (I shamelessly love comments!), and lets see where the wind takes us :)

Who are you?

I was talking to a few fellow photographers over lunch today, and the topic of a past poll came up. I ran it when I first launched my blog and my business just to appease my curiosity and see who you lovely people were.

It has probably been just about two years now since I ran the poll, and so many things have changed about my blog, my work, my readership and the like. So I'm publishing this dear little poll up again! :) Please leave your mark here and tell me who you are below!! And don't be shy! :) All results are private :)Lastly, one vote only... so choose carefully! :)

Oh and before I forget, for those choosing 'other', I am getting your answers emailed to me, so thank you!! I love reading them :D

Alright peeps, I'm off now, but I promise to be back with a post tomorrow with photos for all of you to have a look at :D

I Heart Faces

( button above is clickable! :D )

I don't normally enter competitions, but when one is about faces and people and their expressions, AND on top of that Jasmine Star is the judge - I held no hesitation :)

So here is my submission to the iHeartFaces contest this week. The theme is Wedding Bells :) I love this photo to death. Really I do. It was from Loren and Josh's wedding and its just full of emotion, happiness, and joy... which is what weddings are all about :)

Big thanks to iHeartFaces for running such a neat little contest, and to Jasmine Star for taking the time to go through the sheer number of entries I know you will get for this one :) And also for the time to look at mine for a brief few seconds :)

Have a gorgeous day everyone!

ps: I love scheduled posts like this one. It means it publishes on its own, even while I am asleep or travelling, or busy with other stuff like now! :D

ps: Post with photos will be up tomorrow sometime! :D

Chi and Fernando: Wedding [Part 1]

They're fun, they're cute, and they're goofily adorable.

If I ever met people who were like cotton candy on a stick, it would be Chi and Fernando. Sweet, delightful, and just a bubble full of laughs. For a couple that have been at each other's side for ten years, and still able to laugh with each other as if they were on their first day, I find that just beautiful.

I have always believed that apart from love, laughter is such a vital and key ingredient to seeing a marriage down the long haul. To be able to have a good sense of humour about each other and about life, really adds mountain sized spoonfuls of forgiveness when things are blue, and only cooks in extra rays of sunshine when the times are already good :)

So when it came time to pledge their forevers to each other, you knew their union would be one that would stand the test of time. Because, in true Chi and Fernando fashion, their day was graced with an abundance of sweetness, laughter, and pure fun. And nothing else that was in the air that day could content with that impeccable force.

Here are some of my favourite shots from their wedding:

I know I normally post the 'usual' favourites from all the wedding ceremonies I shoot, so to change it up a little, here are some 'other' faves that I liked, which aren't the usual moments I put up :)

I just LOVE this moment.. caught while the maid of honor was signing the registry papers :)

Off to get some portraits taken! :)

I dont know why I felt like this picture deserved a cooler retro type of processing :)

We had gorgeous light that evening!! :D

Then it was off to party and celebrate at Lauriston House :)

Speeches are always an emotion filled time!

I loved the light in this cake cutting shot.

And my fave fave part of every wedding!! :D The bridal waltz! love it :)

I love it when the dance floor heats up! :D

And a ring shot to end the night :)

We ran a crazybooth for Chi and Fernando as well, but you'll have to tune into the next post to see some of the images :) Here is a sneak peak! :D

Thank you in uber uber uber amounts for all the fun and laughs, Chi and Fernando! We had a blast!! :D :D

New Headers

Hello my beautiful blog readers! :D

It's a monday, and I'm sitting in the aftermath of a weekend (wait, I meant a WEEK) that felt like I was blown around by a level 5 tornado, then thrown smack bang back onto the ground like a cat that fell in the drain. It's been a bit of a mad run, and I have about 3 days left before the next round of insanity begins again :)

So needless to say, I've been dashing between all things as fast and best as I can, like Mr speedy gonzalas here. But he wins. If I could steal his swiftly ways, I totally would. Then lock them in a bag so no one else can keep up with me. LOL!

Anyhow, if you have not noticed already, this blog has undergone a tiny little cosmetic change :) The fabulous JingKai from Krizalis, has been the whiz behind the new comment boxes you have been enjoying with every post, and also the newly added flash header you see at the top of the page! I have been wanting to update the thing for a year, and finally sent through some of my favourite images to be created into one! And in a blink of an eye (like a day later), it was made and gve birth to the cyber world :)

If any of you need any web needs, please contact JingKai! :) He works as fast as Mr Speedy Gonzalas and his after sales service is impeccable! :)

Enjoy the new header!

I'll be back tomorrow with a blog post (OR TWO if you guys are lucky!) with some pretty pictures and shoots :)

Here is a sneak peak to what I will be posting tomorrow:

Josh and Grace: Engagement

There are certain people that just have it. You know, that likeable aura. That special IT factor. Hidden underneath it, you discover uber amounts of smiles, sweetness, and an uncanny ability to just warm your heart with all their quirks, charms, and little idiosyncrasies.

Josh and Grace had it.

From the moment we all sat down that amiable morning, where the honey rays from the sun spilled gently across our skin, I was beguiled and taken in an instance. Their bright and animated verbosity, Grace's sparkling giggles, and Josh's sunny persona, all mixed in had cooked a recipe that had me at hello. They had me at hello. And I couldn't be more thrilled to be documenting their love and marriage later this month in the beautiful grounds of the Hunter Valley. The place has an incredible soft spot in my heart, as that is where my husband and I went for the first leg of our honeymoon and we only hold the fondest memories.

Josh and Grace joined us one really glorious afternoon where the sun bore is full golden beauty upon us, for their engagement session. In the streets. :) I love it when clients allow my nutty taste explore new and fresh territory in the most random of ways. The result? We found the most delightful and colourful little corners that just begged to be photographed, and I couldn't be more happy. Sun and colour is truly a match made in heaven when it comes to my time behind the camera!! :D

Thank you so much for such an awesome time together Josh and Grace! i LOVED your style, and your thoughtful additions to the shoot... your props were so flippin awesome I just wanted to hug you!! :D See you in a couple of weeks! :D

Here are my favourite takes from that afternoon :)

(just a note that I have been falling more and more in love with the vintage side of colour processing, so you will see some of the fruit of my tinkering and experimentation in this set! Do let me know what you think of it!)

This director's take thing was their idea! See why I love these guys?!? :D

Grace's smile is just stunning. No? YES! :D

Playing with those funky little balloons they had! :D

How cute are they? :D

Showing us a little camera magic :D

I just LOVE the below picture... there is a breezy happiness that's just infectious! :D

There was some BEAUTIFUL light in this alley... just look.. I just HAD to play!

This was probably one of my favourite shots all day...

These next two shots are just to prove you don't need a glamorous cool place to shoot to get a shot you are after :) We shot this on the curb side on cement! That's right, cars were literally driving right past us! :P

And lastly, a HUGE HUGE shoutout to my favourite videographers in Australia (and also very fond friends of mine!) - Moudanie Pictures :) This is Evro, the mastermind behind the gorgeous films you see on his site. I love working with you and Helen! can't wait til our next assignment together!! :D

In my next post, there will be a really BIG and EXCITING piece of news that I'll be announcing so do stay tuned for that!! Blink, and you WILL be sorry you missed it, really!

Have a gorgeous tuesday everyone!
