A big hi and hello to all of you out there! Thank you for stopping by Jenny Sun Photography's blog! This is my brand new blog space! So please make yourself at home, and have a good browse around. There is plenty more to come so check back often :) Just in case any of you are wondering who on earth I am, my name is Jenny Sun. I own a photography company that spans across Australia and Malaysia, particularly in the Sydney and Kuala Lumpur regions respectively. Though I'm not restricted to those areas! :) I love photographing just about anything under the sun, but my particular passion is for weddings and portraits - I seriously LOVE people, their stories, the beautiful relationships formed, and the tales that are told when that shutter goes off!

This blog is my personal and visual journey along this path of photography. Please hop on board the ride, comment along the way (I shamelessly love comments!), and lets see where the wind takes us :)

Hide and Seek

I feel quite awkward, typing these few words onto my almost 2-week untouched blog. It's like my finger are virgins to this keyboard that I am hesitantly tapping away on.

It's been anything but quiet or stagnant on my side. I've been shooting almost every 2 days...YES, every 2nd day! And when I haven't been shooting, I've been learning to take a breath, and attempt at normality of life in this peak season by doing what girls my age should be doing at this time - laughing at silly nothings with her sister, watching movies with friends, eating delicious food, and conquering the crazy task we know as Christmas shopping without burning holes in our pockets, wallets and whatever else carries monetary value :)

Anyhow, I know it seems like I have been playing a very cruel hide and seek game on my blog, but I promise I am still around. It has just been SO busy that I haven't had much of a chance to keep up with it all myself, let alone let the world know what has been zipping and zooming past in my world. I will be back :) With avengence I might add. There is so much happening, will be happening, and has happened, that I FEEL I could write a novel with a visual companion book attached to it (jokes), but you get the idea :) This girl behind the lens just has to wrap up 4 more weddings before this year hits its closing note, then just you wait and see. I've got 4 months of work to unleash onto this humble little corner of the web! :)

For now, here is a photo I took at a wedding recently. It caused little warm fuzzies to migrate to my heart, and it made me happy looking at it :) Hope you enjoy this little piece of a teaser (I know! I hate teasers too, but its better than nothing :p) until I get my breath back long enough to let my itchy fingers back onto this typing pad :)

I'll be back, and soon I might add! :) I'm now off to Phuket for a job! Ciao! :)

Fievel and Claudia: Engagement

HUGE week ahead, starting from tomorrow... so I do apologize in advance if the next few posts seem erratic of short on words. Plus, my FTP server is STILL down, so you'll have to hang a little longer to see slideshows on this blog space. I promise I AM working hard on trying to figure out what bug is eating up my cyberlife! Anyhow, without further ado...

Fievel and Claudia, are friends of the ever fabulous Wayne and Angela :-) And it was at their wedding that I met this lovely couple. I knew that if they were friends of Wayne and Angela, they would be just awesome and I wasn't wrong! They are down to earth, sweet, and super nice. They are getting married soon, so I thought I'd better put up their engagement photos :) We spent a quiet afternoon in the midst of the HEAVY grey that enveloped Sydney (did I mention it was HEAVVVVY?), which eventually opened it's skies long enough to get some of the shots in the later part of this post. I always love it when the sun comes out, so I was really happy when it graced its golden rays across some of these photos :)

Can't wait until your wedding!

Here are just a few of my favourites from that day:

Love this 'formal' ;)

I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOVE grass shots. The longer the grass, the happier I grin :) I must seem crazy, but seriously, I can't help it. Anyhow, the next two were some of my faves.

This one just makes my heart smile :)

Just a splash of colour, on a grey grey day.

I think Angela and Wayne's friends are super cool, because they are willing to do nutty things for their photographer. I joked and said it would be so cool to see them climb the tree below. Little did I know they took me seriously! I LOVE them :D Just look how sweet they look. I love this shot, especially because the branch is massive!

Okay, so the next few shots we snuck in. No one was around, so we thought why not? The sun was out, the sky turned blue, and there was a lighthouse :D

Yayyyy....yummy afternoon light :D

This last series was just us fooling around. It was so funny because they had to literally run OVER me so I could get this snap! :)

Thank you Fievel and Claudia! You two rock ;)

Loren and Josh: Wedding

He was 14, she was 12. In this day in age, the world would laugh and mock the idea that one would be able to find true love, your better half, your best friend, when you are still growing out of polka dot tops. Or smiling with your braces on. But in that awkward tween stage, when we are neither children or adults, sometimes cupid can surprise us. Josh saw Loren from across the room at the dance studio they took their ballroom classes at, and he instantly knew she was the one for him.

"He had competition though!" remarked one of the speakers at the reception. But in typical competitive Josh style, he competed, he proved, he danced, and he showed Loren that he was the better man. That he was worth her heart.

More than a decade later, they stood in front of their family and friends, and made a promise to love each other til the end of their days. And like Loren and Josh, it was a day filled with laughter, much classiness, a touch of looking back, and a whole lot of looking forward. Congratulations Loren and Josh! Thank you so much for entrusting me to capture your big day! I hope you are loving newly married life, with your lovely dogs. Don't forget to pull out those dancing shoes once in awhile - you both worked those feet incredibly that night :)

Here are my favourites from their wedding day:

Loren looked so stunning on the day, and we all joked that no one would be looking at Josh. He understands, but you can see why we made that statement!

I love this snap taken by Linda!

Here comes the bride!

I thought it was cute how Loren looked back at her guests, before she said her vows at St Marks, Darling Point.

This was a sweet moment. Loren was teary after the ceremony so here's one of her bridesmaids helping her dry up.

Lots of hugs and laughs :)

Then it was off to get some portraits taken.

The entourage.

Some yummy details, at Doltone House in the City, which is where Loren and Josh had their reception.

I took TONNES of frames of Loren and Josh's awesome choreographed dance. Here are just a few that showed how lively and talented these two are on the dance floor!

Some fun on the dance floor by the guests:

And of course, some fun with the rings! Take a guess where I put the rings for this shot :)

So sorry there isn't a slideshow with this post. My FTP server is down and misbehaving in a serious way, so I hope the above photos will do for now :)

Huge thanks to Linda and Vincy for assisting at this wedding. You both were awesome additions to the day :)
