A big hi and hello to all of you out there! Thank you for stopping by Jenny Sun Photography's blog! This is my brand new blog space! So please make yourself at home, and have a good browse around. There is plenty more to come so check back often :) Just in case any of you are wondering who on earth I am, my name is Jenny Sun. I own a photography company that spans across Australia and Malaysia, particularly in the Sydney and Kuala Lumpur regions respectively. Though I'm not restricted to those areas! :) I love photographing just about anything under the sun, but my particular passion is for weddings and portraits - I seriously LOVE people, their stories, the beautiful relationships formed, and the tales that are told when that shutter goes off!

This blog is my personal and visual journey along this path of photography. Please hop on board the ride, comment along the way (I shamelessly love comments!), and lets see where the wind takes us :)

Hens photos!

Wow, these are finally up!

There really is no story needed as...well...the pictures speak for themselves :)

Happy Monday people! :)

I have a lot of friends who love photography as much as I do, so needless to say there were alot of cameras that day! :) Plus, lots of LCD staring too!

Playing silly with balloons!

I have no idea what I was laughing about!

Carol posing for us :)

This was just HALF the girls there that day :)

A future bride! Char is getting married in October of which I will actually be a guest! woot! :)

Me, with my future sister in law. She's marrying my brother, and yes! I am ACTUALLY going to be the photographer on the day :)

This shot is SO hilarious!! I love it :)

More LCD loving :)

Sorry everyone, I know I was supposed to put up a whole set of the remaining photos from the previous post up a couple of days ago, but I've been having some issues with the net (I have 5 mins here, before I have to dash on an 8 hour flight of which I KNOW I'll be absolutely wasted once I get off) so I'm going to post it up tomorrow sometime once I get off the plane :)

Hope u all had a fab weekend!

And to those who are awaiting replies to emails, PLEASE hang in there. It is not that I have ignored anyone - it's only due to the fact that I've been travelling over the past week and am only in front of the computer/internet for a few minutes at a time before I have to dash off to my next meeting(s) :-) I promise to get back to you over the next few days :)

Til then! Take care people! :-)

Prelude to the wedding

I'm talking about my Hens people!! Considering I'm planning to blog about my wedding (and the aftermath I call honeymoon, moving, and setting up a new office and home) in due time, I though I'd start with the first lot of 'celebrations'.

Nah, I'm boring, I didn't do anything wild or crazy or absurdly stupid at my hens :)

Sorry peeps, but I'm a homely kinda girl. So sitting around, eating heaps and laughing my head off are some of my fave activities. What did I tell you - BORING, but hey, I had fun so thats what matters right (haha, don't worry, I'm not normally this selfishly self-absorbed :p)? So go figure what I ended up getting to at my hens ;)

I'll post the fuller set of images tomorrow, but for now, here are a few that were taken by one of my wonderful assistants, Vincy. Edited/Processed by myself. Geez! It feels almost idolatrous to put pictures of myself up on my own site - WEIRD I tell you!! Anyway, here's my face planted on this corner of the web for now!

PS: I'm travelling this week, so please hang tight there if I don't reply your email as fast as I normally do. Back in the office on monday :)

80% Full for 2008

KL's weather has been a pale shade of grey compared to the amazing hues of blue and sun that I've been totally spoilt by in Sydney, Thailand and Bali. So naturally, I've been feeling a bit bland as of late when I lean my eyes out towards the window frame of my new office space.

But my world today was rocked and infused with its own boat of rainbow delights when I was looking at my calendar for this year.

As of today, I am currently 80% booked for 2008!! And on top of that, I am already filling out the early part of 2009!!

When that realization swept across my dazed head, my eyes nearly popped because it is only march!! I had to pinch myself to check. God, is this true? Or have you played tricks on my computer fuzzed-out eyes?? No way right??

But reality has it today, I wasn't dreaming :)

I'm not writing this by any means to brag or gloat. This post is more of a little hint and reminder to anyone who has been sitting and thinking over recent times whether or not they should hop on the JSP boat, to not hang around too much longer as I'm not really sure when the last few slots will fill up as I work on a first in first served basis. And to the others, I can't stress enough how important it is to book the vendors you want for you wedding early to avoid disappointment - I've had bookings reserved with me as far as 18 months in advance so, there is no such thing as too much time :)

To the rest that have written to me and are awaiting my reply regarding availabilities, hang in there. I have returned back to my office with SWARMS and SWARMS of emails to reply to, and I'm aiming to have everything replied by sometime next week.

Thank you to all those who have considered using me for your big special day, and taking me along for a tiny part of your love story this past and coming year. I really mean it when I say I am truly honored to be chosen. And really, I am nothing without my God almighty. He gave me these eyes, hands, and any other thing you guys may even call a 'gift' (I still giggle when people say I have a gift - it still feels incredibly weird to be praised! Don't ask me why cos I don't know - it just is that way. Maybe I'm weird! haha) and all the opportunities that have just fallen in my lap to cross paths with all those I've worked and will work with.

You all rock! Happy Easter people! :)

Here are some organic eggs to celebrate and remind us of the new life that Jesus rose up to :)

This post is looooooooooong overdue!!

Yes, I'm behaving myself, and finally blogging in order (haha, for now :p)

While I'm working on several batches of wedding photos, I thought I'd share some shoots that I've already completed. Starting with Mandy.

Mandy's session was great because she is a girl that loves the same kind of photography that I love - urban, colourful, texture filled, and best of all - it was totally relaxed because the shoot was for no particular reason but just because :)

Yes people!! You can TOTALLY have your portraits/photos taken for no special reason. Why not get your shots taken today? And it doesn't have to be in some exotic snazzy place. That's what lifestyle portraiture is all about - we go to some of your favourite places, or places you hang out, or somewhere that has special memory for you, and shoot some shots of yourself in a relaxed and fun session! I've even had people 'buy' a session for their friends/family as a gift. Pretty cool huh? :)

Anyway, back to Mandy :)

Thanks for the super fun session Mandy! You rocked the lens, and your fashion sense must definitely be applauded - you made it almost too easy to photograph you! :) Oh, and thank you for the delicious lunch treat that day as well - we must do it again someday (the lunch, that is :) )

Here are some of my fave shots from the day:

You gotta give it to this girl, she has hot shoes!!

Oh yes, fun fun back lighting. Not a new concept, but definitely awesomely fun to do anyway!! :D

And last but not least! Check out Mandy's slideshow [HERE]

Phuket Destination Wedding

I shot the most AMAZING wedding ever over the weekend. Held at the Laguna Resort, Phuket, in the exotic land of Thailand, this destination wedding was just beautiful!! :)

Even though I worked through this wedding with a full blown flu, it was a truly fantastic experience and I'm so thankful for the opportunity to document it. I know I'm totally blogging this out of order, and there are many other shoots that I'm supposed to be blogging about, but I'm so excited I can't help myself :p

So, to not spoil the surprise totally, here are just a couple of pictures to tease you until this it really is this couple's turn to be blogged about :)

Enjoy the teaser!! :)

I'm going back to work now before this internet connection expires on me (by the way, the last post was made while I was sitting at the phuket airport while I had about 15 mins of spare internet time - yes! that's 15 minutes to edit AND write!! :p)

Slowly back in action

Hi everyone!

Thank you for your awesome well wishes for our wedding over the past few months. The emails have been overwhelming to say the least :) But we really appreciate it!! Your love and thoughts really blows me away and I'm always thanking God for awesome clients (and non-clients too!) such as yourselves.

I'm just making a quick post to quickly update you on what is happening on my end. I do realize that this blog and activity on my side has been very quiet over the past month, however we have only just recently returned from our honeymoon (I returned sicked with a stomach bug, and then now with the flu), and have spent the past week moving in (and that is just getting the boxes INTO the new place).

Yes people! That means I'm still living out of boxes and suitcases! :( Not ideal, but juggling the role of wife, photographer, business manager, receptionist and PA, graphic designer, marketer, editer, while moving, is a MUCH harder task than most can imagine. I am doing my best :) Believe me when I say that things have by no means been dead or quiet - I am working! :)

More importantly, my workstation has been packed up and will be moved into our new place this week, and we are trying as FAST as we can to hook up broadband here too (at present I am working at wifi spots to keep on top of emails - there is literally dozens upon dozens of emails coming in each day) - so I am pretty please asking everyone to be as patient as possible while we set everything up and settle it all down.

I intend to start blogging regularly as soon as the internet guys hook us up, so stay tuned. In the meantime, thank you SO MUCH for your awesome patience and I promise to reward all of you with some exciting pictures to come!

For now, here is a shot I took while we were in Bali, of the place we stayed at. There was this really pretty infinity pool that overlooked the rice paddy fields! :)
