A big hi and hello to all of you out there! Thank you for stopping by Jenny Sun Photography's blog! This is my brand new blog space! So please make yourself at home, and have a good browse around. There is plenty more to come so check back often :) Just in case any of you are wondering who on earth I am, my name is Jenny Sun. I own a photography company that spans across Australia and Malaysia, particularly in the Sydney and Kuala Lumpur regions respectively. Though I'm not restricted to those areas! :) I love photographing just about anything under the sun, but my particular passion is for weddings and portraits - I seriously LOVE people, their stories, the beautiful relationships formed, and the tales that are told when that shutter goes off!

This blog is my personal and visual journey along this path of photography. Please hop on board the ride, comment along the way (I shamelessly love comments!), and lets see where the wind takes us :)

Shehaan and Mihaela: Engagement

The air that surrounded my face as I was briskly walking towards my destination, was bloated with a sticky heaviness that clung tight to every bit of my sun soaked skin. Married close to it, was the almost 40 degree heat that seemed to know just how to seep beneath my pores, to really make its presence known... to show that summer was here. And it was here to stay.

Just when I thought that summer's bite had gotten to me, my legs reached the Opera Bar, and my eyes began its search among the swarms of people. And that's when I saw a slender arm peep above all the heads, waving at me. It was there where I first met Shehaan and Mihaela. Their warm, laid-back nature shone out immediately, and only stood out even brighter as we chatted about their wedding, how they met, and how Shehaan inevitably asked Mihaela to spend the rest of her life with him.

He joked and said "It was about time. I am at that age already". Mihaela crinkled her nose at him in response, and that's when they broke out in laughter... putting his arm around her in assurance, smiling. Then proceeded to tell me the REAL story :) Behind that jester facade, Mihaela knew he was just playing verbal banter... she knew better. I love how these two have that kind of understanding. You know, the kind of understanding that is backed up by a citadel full of confidence and fresh audacity, and truckloads of old fashion laughter. I knew it would be so much fun, photographing these two from that first conversation we had, and their engagement session rocked out in exactly the way I thought it would.... that very same verbal banter, cheekiness, all wrapped up warmly in their infectious laughter.

Here are some of my favourite shots from their shoot:

Shehaan! I don't care what you say/think - your smile is cool! Not dorky at all!! :)

Always love my dose of good ol' backlighting awesomeness!! mmmm :D

The custom-designed ring that Shehaan had made for Mihaela :)

One of my faves :)

My favourite of the day. Sunset, boat in background, AMAZING light (like, seriously AMAZING light), and a fab couple. How can you top that?? :)

If you all want to see more photos, you can check it out below in the slideshow. Enjoy!!

Thank you Shehaan and Mihaela!! These two rescheduled their shoot on a weekday just to get the perfect photos. You see, their location was FLOODED with weekend crowds when we reached there that sunday afternoon. Coming back a couple of days later, the ENTIRE place was all theirs. I can't stress to couples how much more awesome your shoots will be if they are on a weekday - you get almost total privacy, plus you get to take a day off and spend it with the person you love (which I think beats working anyway :p) ! How much better can it get??

Anyway, Mihaela and Shehaan, I had SO much fun with the two of you on you engagement shoot. You guys were just awesome to work with, and it just makes me look forward to your awesome wedding all that much more in October. Can't wait! PS: Thank you for the yummy korean dinner :) My tummy loves you heaps for it! :D
