The girl behind the lens is on the run again :) And I can proudly say that today, marks the start of a new era in JSP! I can't say how, but do know that things are changing in great ways!!
Anyhow, I can't stay to write long, but I wanted to let you all know that I'm travelling overseas at the moment doing various shoots, so I'm not back in the office until 5th November.

I will try to reply emails as soon as I can, but if you wanted to catch me urgently, just buzz my numbers above. I don't bite! :)
ps: So sorry that there has been a lag (okay, its a HUGELY LOOOOOOOONG lag) in blogging - its not that I don't have like a MILLION photos to share with you all, but the past month I've been organzing a lot of things for this 'new era in JSP' which starts today (!!) so I've been really tied up with that. One of the changes that have been planned for this new episode in JSP is more blogging! Yay! So stay tuned and check back often cos a lot of things are coming people, when I get back to the office!! :D

This was a total impromptu shoot. Impromptu shoots are so cool - no pressure, no expectations, and usually lots of fun :) I just happened to have my camera with me when our good friends Andrew and Naomi came to visit us in KL, and I have to say it was so good to see them again! We had met Andrew and Naomi when Andrew came to work for our church in Sydney for a year, and they have since gone to minister at NDCCC. When they came to KL, they brought along their new addition to their family - Rebecca. She is a really sweet little girl, with a beautiful sunny personality (except when its her nap time - I hear that is when she gets very noisy and quite the grumpy munchkin! :p) - amazingly quick on her toes. It was a TOTAL challenge to keep up with her! But very much worth it - little tods, as always, are completely and utterly photogenic (I'm so envious!!), plus I got some exercise that day as well. My legs are thanking me for it :p
You can click [HERE] for a fuller slideshow of images taken of Rebecca that day. And have a look below for some of my favourite shots + some happy snaps. Oh, I learned that day, that Rebecca has this adorable habit of saying please (or in her intonation: "peesh" hehe!!) not only when she wants something, but also when she gives you something too! How hilariously CUTE! haha.
(Click the photo panel above to see its full size)
Andrew and Naomi organized a trip to the Petronas Twin Towers Sky Bridge. Can you believe in my 2.5 years in Malaysia, this was my first time up!! Totally NOT scary :) We got 6 minutes to linger across the glass-panelled walkway, before we were called time. Anyway, above is the happy little family themselves :)

I love cafes. The atmosphere lingers comfortably within the homebody side of my personality... And no, I'm not talking about the commercialized never ending retail chains such as starbucks... I'm talking about those quaint little shops on the side of the street, those cafes that have neatly laid out chairs and round tables outside, those cafes that still showcase their daily menus on chalkboards...those are the ones with character :)
Sorry to all the KL-ians out there (I had to make up this name - I know it makes me look like a total dork, but.... oh well :p) but I have to say that the Sydney cafe lifestyle is just amazing. And the food (if you pick the right ones) are nothing less as well :) Of course, Malaysia kicks some serious butt in the asian food department. We Sydney-siders bow down to the awesomeness of KL's local culinary offerings.
But that aside, check out some of the cafe's I've been to and what they serve!! Unlike a lot of menus we see today, these portions are as big as they look :D And please, no drooling... ;)
Don't worry, this is by NO MEANS turning into a food blog. And NO, i do not always photograph what I eat... I do enjoy the food and the company more :) Anyhow, I have a TONNE of portrait + wedding photos to share with you, but I figured while you are waiting in the meantime (sorry, my schedule has just been nutters as of late - but I am trying my very best to keep my blogging up), instead of having no entries, you can at least fill up with this instead! :)
And just because I feel like it, here are some other shots from my sydney travels + a secret: all shots taken in this entry were taken with a humble canon ixus point and shoot! I just wanted to show you all its NOT always about the camera/lens we use to get a shot... so, dont feel you need to be a gearhead to get some shots you are happy with. Great lighting+composition will never be replaced by any $30,000 camera (not that having it is a bad thing)! :)
This is part of the interiors of the Queen Victoria Building (on George St). Its really stunning, if you stop to look. Sydneysiders probably see this everyday, but I guess living across two countries gives one a fresh set of eyes to see what you don't live with day in day out. yay! :)
You will never see sunsets like this in KL. The colours lasted about 2 minutes before they changed (you get like 15 minutes of glorious light, 2 minutes of glorious colour before everything turns into a mere wisp of what it was). Oh, and trust me, these colours are for real. I did not alter them - only contrast + curves were added. Nature is fantastic!! :D
ps: I will reply emails soon. Sorry for the delay - the next week or so is incredibly busy. There is alot happening, but I promise to write back as soon as I get a moment to sit down. It wont be too long! :) Oh, and happy wednesday to all of you out there. Middle of the week vibes are in!! Not long before we get greeted with another weekend to live out. Take care everyone! :)

One couple I met up with in Sydney, were cool enough to do just that! And here is what I captured for them:
It's best if you click the image above to see the panel in full :)
I hope they don't mind me putting their photos up - you both were just too cute and I couldn't help but share! Plus, its to show I'm not a scary photographer :) I can't wait to do their pre-wedding shoot in a couple of weeks, and their wedding later this year!
A HUGE thank you for treating me to the yummy thai food that night, even though I couldnt finish the colossal portions, I thought it was such a sweet gesture and totally unexpected! :D
ps: No flash was employed for the above shots, or any shots taken in my previous post. Just in case anyone was wondering.

Enjoy my postcards from Sydney and the accompanying captions!!
I adore japanese food. If anyone ever wants to get on my good side, or treat me a meal - japanese will do it. Seriously :) I went to Yutaka on one of my first nights with Vincy (see the photo below to put a face to the name! ) who happens to be a good friend of mine, and a photography enthusiast! Pity, we both agreed that the food AND portions at Yutaka left us wanting....
I shot this the same time as the previous photo. This is my attempt at a handheld capture of the harbour bridge at night. It wasn't easy!
