A big hi and hello to all of you out there! Thank you for stopping by Jenny Sun Photography's blog! This is my brand new blog space! So please make yourself at home, and have a good browse around. There is plenty more to come so check back often :) Just in case any of you are wondering who on earth I am, my name is Jenny Sun. I own a photography company that spans across Australia and Malaysia, particularly in the Sydney and Kuala Lumpur regions respectively. Though I'm not restricted to those areas! :) I love photographing just about anything under the sun, but my particular passion is for weddings and portraits - I seriously LOVE people, their stories, the beautiful relationships formed, and the tales that are told when that shutter goes off!

This blog is my personal and visual journey along this path of photography. Please hop on board the ride, comment along the way (I shamelessly love comments!), and lets see where the wind takes us :)

This will just be a short entry...

It looks like the new additions to the 3rd wedding gallery will have to be postponed a week or two. I've been feeling unwell this week (am still feeling crook) and have not been able to get work done as per normal.

I'll write here again to let you all know when the new gallery is up.

Hope you've all had a good week! Stay healthy and sleep enough - the lack of it will eventually creep up on you, as it has done to me.

Signing out...

Chui Family

This is not the newest shoot I've done, however I was moving the photos from an old link to my new site recently and it reminded me of the day I was at Balmoral beach. Beautiful place. It has the sand, stone walls, pier, lovely restaurants, very lush and well-manicured garden/park area... and best of all, a quaint little white rotunda.

Pity that day, the sun was quite harsh and reflected very badly on the white paint of the structure, or else I would have taken more photos around it.

Anyway, thanks Anita for letting me photograph your family that day, even after the postponing due to the rain. And Kudos to all of you for putting on makeup, and really putting in the effort to colour-coordinate yourselves for the photos. The results of your effort show - everyone looked great!

Below are some samples from their shoot:

Mitchell and Tanya

I've been wanting to write about this wedding shoot for over a month now, but with the regular busyness of life and work constantly permeating my days, that plan was unfortunately tacked on the 'to-do-list' slightly longer than I had anticipated.

Anyhow, I met this couple last year through a friend, and it was a real pleasure to fly back home (Sydney) to shoot their wedding. While the day was a scorching 35 degrees celcius (yes, to the Malaysians reading this entry, alot of you are thinking - thats a normal weather day for me! Do understand that Australia is a temperate country and normal days there are only 20+ degrees celcius). Despite the heat, sweat, and constant desire for water during the day, the day had clear blue skies, and Sydney scenery is gorgeous as always.

What turned out was a very personal, beautiful event, and it was a lovely experience to be able to document the day. There was a warmth throughout the whole wedding that is always so wonderful to really reflects on the closeness of the relationships that you have with your guests on the big day. And for Mitch and Tanya, I could really tell they had a tight-knit family.

Click the below photo to view a slideshow of some sample shots from their wedding (some you might have already seen on my main website/portfolio). And again, you will need the latest version of flash to see it:

Chow Family Shoot

During my last visit to sydney, I had the pleasure to photograph a friend's family.

Their family shoot was so pleasant and such a joy to be able to do. Each member of the family was great and willing to take up my suggestions for poses and there was no awkwardness in front of the camera.

The parents were sweet, and the 'kids' were lots of fun.

I could really tell from that brief one hour or so working with them, the close and wonderful ties they have with each other.

It was an incredibly fun day for me... beautiful sydney weather, lovely location (despite a few mosquitos here and there), and some wonderful people to shoot.

Thanks Charissa for letting me photograph your family. I hope you had as much fun as I did. It was a pleasure to meet your family :)

Here is a flash slideshow of a selection of shots from their shoot:
